Super Duplex 2507 shims are thin, precision-slit spacers of 25% chromium duplex stainless steel, used for levelling, alignment, and gap-setting in corrosive plants. The microstructure splits into near-equal austenite and ferrite, which is where the Super Duplex steel shims get their 550 MPa minimum yield. Chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen together push the PREN past 40, so a shim clamped in seawater or hot brine holds its set thickness instead of pitting away at the faces. These shims find typical use in marine propeller shafts, offshore oil platforms, desalination plants, and chemical processing equipment.
We slit every S32750 shim on our own precision lines from a solution-annealed source coil rather than reselling mill widths. Gauges are around 0.03 mm to 5 mm at widths between 3 mm and 2000 mm, and EN 10204 Type 3.1 / 3.2 mill test certificates accompany orders on request.
