What are Nickel 201 Foils?

Nickel 201 foils are thin-gauge flat products of low-carbon commercially pure nickel, holding 99.0% minimum nickel with carbon capped at 0.02%. The cap keeps grain boundaries free of graphite above 315 °C, where standard-carbon nickel embrittles. The metal melts at 1435-1446 °C, resists caustic soda at every concentration, and strengthens only through cold work. It is mainly applied in electronic and battery components and food processing equipment.

Every 201 Nickel Foil order runs through our own slitting lines. Material ships annealed (soft) to ASTM B162, in any width from 3 mm to 2000 mm, with BA, 2B, or Matte surfaces. Each coil carries a mill test certificate when requested.
