About Nickel Shims

Nickel shims are flat packing pieces fitted between mating surfaces to close a gap, level a machine, or align an assembly. Fitters stack them under bearing housings, at flange joints, and behind instrument mounts wherever a fraction of a millimetre decides the fit. Commercially pure nickel earns its place in shim duty through corrosion resistance in caustic and alkaline media that stainless spacers can't match; sodium hydroxide, which readily attacks metals such as aluminium and zinc and can crack steel at high temperature, leaves nickel essentially unattacked across the full concentration range. The metal also conducts heat and current well, is ferromagnetic, and carries a density of 8.89 g/cm³. A clamped nickel spacer keeps its thickness, so the joint keeps its setting. Purchase orders name the same product as pure nickel shims, nickel spacers, or nickel shimming material.

Every width we sell is slit in-house from the source coil. Nickel shim stock runs from 0.03 mm to 5 mm thick, and material below 0.25 mm ships as nickel foil shims. Custom widths between 3 mm and 2000 mm hold ±0.1 mm. Coils wind on 150 mm to 610 mm inner diameters, with outer diameters up to 1800 mm. Edge conditioning to a deburred or round profile is available where a sharp slit edge would mark adjacent parts. Mill documentation traces each batch to its source heat, and technical data sheets follow on request. Most orders leave from ready stock at our Taloja and Mumbai warehouses.

Grades We Supply

We hold a ready stock of 2 pure nickel shim grades: Nickel 200 and Nickel 201. Carbon content separates them, and it decides which grade a hot joint needs. Both grades are provided in the same 0.03 mm to 5 mm stock, so grade choice never limits the sizes available.

Industries We Serve for Nickel Shim

3 sectors use most of the nickel shims dispatched from our warehouses: chemical and alkali processing, electronics and electrical, and food and pharmaceutical plants. Grade choice follows the service temperature at the joint.

Nickel Shims used in Chemical and Alkali Processing

Chemical and Alkali Processing

Caustic soda producers pack Nickel 200 shims under evaporator flanges and reactor supports, where sodium hydroxide would thin a carbon steel spacer within months. Joints beside lines running past 315 °C take Nickel 201 instead. Its restricted carbon keeps the spacer ductile through years of hot service between turnarounds.

Nickel Shims used in Electronics and Electrical

Electronics and Electrical

Transducer builders order Nickel 200 shim stock because the metal is magnetostrictive as well as conductive, a pairing that ultrasonic stacks apply directly. Battery assemblers pick Ni shims in the 201 grade for tab spacing and cell alignment, since the material carries no plating to flake into a pack.

Nickel Shims used in Food Processing and Pharmaceutical

Food Processing and Pharmaceutical

Dairies and pharmaceutical plants fit Nickel 200 shims on filler heads, conveyor bearings, and mixer frames, washed with hot alkaline cleaning chemistry. The surface doesn't pit under repeated CIP cycles, and the metal adds nothing to the product stream.

Certifications of Nickel Shims

Every nickel shim consignment travels with its paperwork. Riddhi Siddhi Impex holds three ISO certifications and ties each dispatch back to the mill heat.

3.1EN 10204

Mill Test Certificate

An EN 10204 Type 3.1 mill test certificate accompanies each order, recording chemistry and mechanical results against the source heat. Type 3.2 certification can be arranged on request.

9001ISO

ISO 9001

Our ISO 9001:2015 certificate covers the quality management system running from coil intake through slitting and final inspection.

14001ISO

ISO 14001

Environmental management is certified to ISO 14001:2015 across storage, processing, and material movement at both warehouses.

45001ISO

ISO 45001

Workplace health and safety operates under ISO 45001:2018, covering our slitting lines and warehouse handling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the HS Code for Nickel Shims?

Nickel shims fall under HS heading 7506, which covers nickel plates, sheets, strips, and foil. Commercially pure grades such as Nickel 200 and 201 are generally classified under subheading 7506.10 for non-alloyed nickel. Confirm the final code with your customs broker.

Do you supply Nickel Shims from ready stock?

Yes. Nickel shims are one of our fastest-moving products and stay on the shelf year-round. Standard dispatch takes 4 to 5 days. Urgent orders leave within 2 to 3 days.

Can you manufacture Nickel Shims in custom thicknesses and sizes?

Yes. We process nickel shim stock from 0.03 mm to 5 mm thick and to any width between 3 mm and 2000 mm, holding ±0.1 mm on width.

Where can I buy Nickel Shims in India?

You can buy nickel shims in India from Riddhi Siddhi Impex in Mumbai, where we've manufactured and supplied them since 2002 for buyers across India and abroad. Call or WhatsApp our team and a quote will reach you within 24 hours.
