Duplex 2205 sheets and plates are flat-rolled stainless steel built on a two-phase microstructure, roughly half austenite and half ferrite. A chemistry of 22% chromium, 5% nickel, and 3% molybdenum, boosted with nitrogen, gives a PREN of about 35. The grade withstands chloride pitting and stress corrosion cracking that defeat 304 and 316, and its yield strength is nearly twice the austenitic level. It is widely used in chemical and petrochemical industries, marine and offshore applications, and more.
We stock 2205 duplex stainless steel sheets and plates in solution-annealed condition. Sheets arrive cold rolled between 3.8 and 6 mm; plates come hot rolled from 6 mm up, in widths to 2000 mm. Buyers choose 2B or BA surfaces.
