About Monel Strips

Monel strips are narrow, flat-rolled lengths of a nickel-copper solid-solution alloy, wound into coils after cold rolling. Roughly two-thirds of the alloy is nickel and one-third copper, a balance that withstands seawater, brine, and hydrofluoric acid, where stainless steel corrodes. The alloy can't be hardened by heat treatment. Strength comes from cold work instead, so a slit strip arrives soft, forms cleanly, and gains hardness as presses and rolls shape it.

Our warehouse holds Monel strip in thicknesses from 0.03 mm to 5 mm, slit to widths from 3 mm up to 2000 mm. Material ships in the soft annealed condition with slit, deburred, or round edges to suit your tooling. Coil ID runs from 150 mm to 610 mm and OD up to 1800 mm. Edge conditioning is done in-house, so a deburred or round edge adds no extra lead time. Every source coil carries mill documentation before slitting, and an EN 10204 Type 3.1/ 3.2 certificate accompanies each dispatch upon request.

Monel Strips We Supply

We supply Monel 400 strips, which offer excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and reliability for demanding marine, chemical, and industrial applications worldwide.

Industries We Serve for Monel Strips

Monel alloy strips dispatched from our warehouses serve 3 primary industrial sectors. Each one relies on the alloy's stability in salt water and reducing chemistry.

Monel Strips used in Marine and Offshore Engineering

Marine and Offshore Engineering

Shipyards and offshore yards form Monel 400 strip into seawater pump components, sealing rings, splash-zone sheathing, and fastener stock. The grade resists pitting in flowing and stagnant seawater alike, so parts outlast the same components made from coated steel. Naval refit yards keep it on approved material lists for exactly that reason.

Monel Strips used in Chemical and Petrochemical Processing

Chemical and Petrochemical Processing

Hydrofluoric acid alkylation units are the best-known duty for Monel 400, and plants also fit strip-formed seals, gaskets, and heat exchanger parts in sulphuric acid and caustic service. Where a reducing stream attacks stainless equipment, this alloy stays in service.

Monel Strips used in Oil and Gas

Oil and Gas

Monel 400 strips become valve trim, instrument diaphragms, and downhole sealing elements for sour wells and brine-heavy streams. Operators trust the grade in chloride-rich produced water, where cracking risk rules out lighter alloys.

Certifications of Monel Strips

Documentation follows every coil we slit. Riddhi Siddhi Impex maintains three ISO certifications alongside full mill traceability.

3.1EN 10204

Mill Test Certificate

Each Monel strip order ships with an EN 10204 Type 3.1 mill test certificate traceable to the original heat. Type 3.2 certification is available on request.

9001ISO

ISO 9001

Our quality management system holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, covering order review through slitting and final inspection.

14001ISO

ISO 14001

ISO 14001:2015 governs our environmental practices, from material storage to scrap segregation at the slitting lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the HS Code for Monel Strips?

Monel is a nickel alloy, so Monel strips fall under HS heading 7506, which covers nickel plates, sheets, strip, and foil. They do not use the stainless headings 7219 or 7220. Confirm the final subheading with your customs broker.

Do you supply Monel Strips from ready stock?

Yes, Monel strips stay in ready stock at our Mumbai and Taloja warehouses. Standard dispatch takes 4 to 5 days, and urgent orders leave within 2 to 3 days.

Can you slit Monel Strips to custom widths?

Yes. We slit Monel strips to any width between 3 mm and 2000 mm, holding ±0.1 mm, in thicknesses from 0.03 mm to 5 mm.

Where can I buy Monel Strips in India?

You can buy Monel winding strips from Riddhi Siddhi Impex in Mumbai, where we have stocked and slit nickel alloy strips since 2002. Call or WhatsApp our team, and you'll have a quote within 24 hours.
