Nickel 201 sheets and plates are flat-rolled products made from commercially pure, low-carbon wrought nickel, with a minimum nickel content of 99.0% and carbon limited to 0.02% maximum. That reduced carbon prevents intergranular carbon precipitation that would embrittle the metal, so buyers prefer Nickel 201 over Nickel 200 for service above 315 °C.
