Shim applications require good formability rather than high strength. Annealed UNS S44100 shims provide a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa and 20% elongation, allowing blanks to punch, bend, and nest without cracking. Ferritic metallurgy rules out a temper ladder; soft annealed is the only condition we supply. Figures at the thinnest gauges stay indicative.
