Incoloy 840 sheets and plates are austenitic heat-resisting stainless steel flat products built on roughly 20% chromium and 20% nickel, with small titanium and aluminium additions and iron as the balance. The additions bind the oxide into a tight, adherent scale, so flat products resist scaling in air to about 1038 °C. Trade practice keeps the Incoloy name, though the chemistry is nearer heat-resistant stainless than the 800 series. It is commonly applied in electric heating elements and process equipment.
We stock Alloy 840 as cold-rolled sheet from 0.8 mm and hot-rolled plate from 3 mm to 2000 mm wide (after slitting). Material ships annealed with a mill test certificate upon request.
