Duplex 2205 foils are thin, cold-rolled flat products with a two-phase structure of roughly equal austenite and ferrite. The 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, and nitrogen chemistry gives this duplex UNS S32205 foil a PREN typically above 35, allowing the grade to resist localized chloride pitting and stress corrosion cracking far better than standard 304 or 316 stainless steels.
