Stainless Steel 310S shims are thin, flat spacers slit from 310S, a low-carbon austenitic grade built around 25% chromium and 20% nickel. The carbon ceiling of 0.08% curbs carbide precipitation, so the metal keeps its structure through long spells at high temperature. AISI 310S resists oxidation and scaling in continuous service up to roughly 1050 °C. Fabricators fit use Stainless Steel shims wherever a precise gap must survive heat: between furnace plates, under burner mounts, and inside heat-exchanger stacks.
We slit every 310S shim in-house on our own lines rather than reselling fixed widths. Stock leaves the plant in annealed soft condition to ASTM A240, in any width from 3 mm to 2000 mm, with BA, 2B, Matte, or Scotch-Brite surfaces. A documented quality system tracks each coil from incoming inspection to dispatch, and mill test certificates follow on request.
