About Hastelloy Shims

Hastelloy shims close gaps, level equipment, and set alignment at joints where the surrounding chemistry would corrode an ordinary spacer. Millwrights fit them under pump feet, between heat exchanger frames, and behind agitator mounts in acid plants where a carbon steel or stainless packing piece corrodes thin within a season. The nickel-chromium-molybdenum chemistry of the Hastelloy family resists attack in sulphuric, hydrochloric, and phosphoric acid service, and it withstands the pitting that hot chloride solutions drive through stainless steel of the same gauge. That stability matters in the shim duty. A spacer that loses thickness to corrosion loses the setting it was installed to hold, so the joint drifts out of alignment between inspections. Purchase orders name the same material as nickel alloy shims, corrosion-resistant alloy shims, or Hastelloy shim stock.

Every width we dispatch is slit in-house from the source coil held at our Taloja and Mumbai warehouses. Hastelloy shim stock runs from 0.03 mm to 5 mm thick, with material below 0.25 mm shipping as Hastelloy foils. Custom widths between 3 mm and 2000 mm hold ±0.1 mm. All shim material ships in the solution annealed condition, the standard mill state for the C-family alloys. Deburred and round-edge conditioning is available alongside standard slit and mill edges. Mill documentation follows each batch back to its source heat.

Grades We Supply

Our Hastelloy shim production covers 2 grades, C276 and C22, and the service chemistry decides between them. Both are provided from the same 0.03 mm to 5 mm stock, so grade choice never restricts the sizes on offer.

Industries We Serve for Hastelloy Shims

3 sectors utilise most of the Hastelloy shims leaving from our warehouses: chemical processing, oil and gas, and pollution control. The corrosive medium at the joint decides which grade each buyer specifies.

Hastelloy Shims used in Chemical and Petrochemical Processing

Chemical and Petrochemical Processing

Acid plants pack Hastelloy C276 shims under reactor supports, at column flanges, and beneath pump baseplates exposed to spillage and vapour. One spacer chemistry survives sulphuric duty on one unit and hydrochloric on the next, which lets maintenance stores carry a single shim material across the site instead of stocking a grade per stream.

Hastelloy Shims used in Oil, Gas, and Offshore

Oil, Gas, and Offshore

Sour gas installations specify Hastelloy C276 shim stock for wellhead and valve assembly spacing, where hydrogen sulphide and chlorides work together against lesser alloys. Offshore platforms fit the same material at flange joints in seawater-washed zones. A spacer that pits through under clamping load costs far more to replace subsea than it ever cost to buy.

Hastelloy Shims used in Pollution Control and Flue Gas Desulphurisation

Pollution Control and Flue Gas Desulphurisation

FGD scrubbers concentrate chlorides in hot, oxidising liquor, and Hastelloy C22 shims hold alignment on dampers, absorber internals, and duct supports through that exposure. Waste incineration plants apply the same grade behind quench section mounts, where mixed acid condensates attack every joint they reach.

Certifications of Hastelloy Shims

Documentation travels with every consignment. Riddhi Siddhi Impex carries three ISO certifications and traces each dispatch to its mill heat.

3.1EN 10204

Mill Test Certificate

Each order ships with an EN 10204 Type 3.1 mill test certificate recording chemistry and mechanical results for the source heat. Type 3.2 can be arranged on request.

9001ISO

ISO 9001

The ISO 9001:2015 certificate covers our quality management system from coil intake through slitting, inspection, and packing.

14001ISO

ISO 14001

ISO 14001:2015 certification governs environmental management across storage, processing, and material movement at both warehouses.

45001ISO

ISO 45001

Occupational health and safety runs under ISO 45001:2018, taking in our slitting lines and warehouse handling operations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the HS Code for Hastelloy Shims?

Hastelloy shims are classified under HS heading 7506, which covers nickel plates, sheets, strips, and foil. Because Hastelloy is a nickel alloy, subheading 7506.20 for alloyed nickel applies. Confirm the final code with your customs broker.

Do you supply Hastelloy Shims from ready stock?

Yes, Hastelloy Shims are the faster-moving products and stay on the shelf year-round. Standard dispatch takes 4 to 5 days. Urgent orders leave within 2 to 3 days.

Can you fabricate Hastelloy Shims in custom thicknesses and sizes?

Yes. We slit every order to requirement, processing Hastelloy shim stock from 0.03 mm to 5 mm thick and any width between 3 mm and 2000 mm, held to ±0.1 mm.

Where can I buy Hastelloy Shims in India?

You can buy from a reliable Hastelloy shims supplier in India, like Riddhi Siddhi Impex in Mumbai, where we have manufactured them since 2002 for buyers across India and abroad. Call or WhatsApp our team, and a quote will reach you within 24 hours.
