What are Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates?

Inconel 625 sheets and plates are nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy (UNS N06625) flat products holding a minimum of 58% nickel. Molybdenum and niobium harden the matrix in solution, so the alloy resists pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress-corrosion cracking without heat treatment. Flat products hold their strength up to about 980 °C, which suits acid and seawater service.

We stock the grade in cold-rolled sheets from 0.8 mm and hot-rolled plates in heavier gauges. Every Alloy 625 sheet and plate ships annealed to ASTM B443, in HR pickled, 2B, BA, or No.4 finishes. We have a monthly supply capacity of 400-500 tonnes.

Chemical Composition of Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates

Molybdenum sets this grade apart. UNS N06625 carries 8.0 to 10.0% molybdenum, working with niobium to resist pitting in reducing acids and chlorides. The full ASTM B443 composition follows.

Element Composition (%)
Nickel (Ni) 58.0 min
Chromium (Cr) 20.0 to 23.0
Molybdenum (Mo) 8.0 to 10.0
Niobium (Nb) + Tantalum (Ta) 3.15 to 4.15
Iron (Fe) 5.0 max
Carbon (C) 0.10 max
Manganese (Mn) 0.50 max
Silicon (Si) 0.50 max
Phosphorus (P) 0.015 max
Sulphur (S) 0.015 max
Aluminium (Al) 0.40 max
Titanium (Ti) 0.40 max

Mechanical Properties of Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates

Tensile strength anchors the data. Annealed Alloy 625 plate meets an 827 MPa minimum, and the high elongation lets it form and weld without cracking. We primarily supply Grade 1 annealed flat products. The values below apply to the annealed condition per ASTM B443 Grade 1.

Property Value (Minimum)
Tensile Strength
827 MPa (120 ksi)
Yield Strength (0.2% offset)
414 MPa (60 ksi)
Elongation in 50 mm
30%

Industrial Applications of Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates

These 5 industries use Inconel 625 sheets and plates we supply, chosen for corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength.

Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates used in Chemical and Petrochemical Processing

Chemical and Petrochemical Processing

Chemical plants fabricate reactor liners, heat exchangers, and scrubber internals from Nickel Alloy 625 plate. The high molybdenum content withstands sulphuric and hydrochloric acid, while chromium guards against oxidising media.

Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates used in Aerospace and Defence

Aerospace and Defence

Aerospace fabricators specify Inconel 625 sheet to AMS 5599 for exhaust systems, ducting, and thrust-reverser parts. The grade holds its tensile strength through repeated thermal cycling, and it resists fatigue in vibrating components.

Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates used in Marine and Offshore Engineering

Marine and Offshore Engineering

Marine and offshore builders use Alloy 625 plate where seawater and chlorides attack lesser metals. The molybdenum and niobium resist pitting and crevice corrosion, so it lasts in splash-zone and subsea hardware.

Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates used in Power Generation

Power Generation

Power stations use Inconel 625 plate in gas-turbine sections, bellows, and expansion joints exposed to high heat. The alloy resists creep and oxidation, holding strength where carbon and stainless steels soften.

Inconel 625 Sheets & Plates used in Pollution Control Equipment

Pollution Control Equipment

Flue-gas desulphurisation systems use Inconel 625 sheets and plates for scrubber vessels, ducts, and stack liners. Wet FGD service combines acids, chlorides, and heat, which this grade resists to extend component life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What specification covers Inconel 625 Sheets and Plates?

Inconel 625 sheets and plates are covered by ASTM B443 and its ASME equivalent SB-443, with AMS 5599 for aerospace forms. These standards set the chemistry, mechanical minimums, and tolerances for UNS N06625.

What is the difference between Inconel 625 Sheet and Inconel 625 Plate?

The main difference between Inconel 625 sheet and plate is thickness and rolling way. The sheet is 2B or BA finish cold rolled to a thickness of about 6 mm. The plate is hot rolled in gauges of 3 mm and over with a pickled finish. Both are ASTM B443 compliant.

How does Inconel 625 Plate compare to Incoloy 825 Plate?

Inconel 625 plate holds more molybdenum and niobium than Incoloy 825, so it offers higher strength and better resistance to pitting and chloride cracking. Incoloy 825 suits sulphuric and phosphoric acid service at a lower cost, where that extra performance is not required.

Do you provide mill test certificates with Inconel 625 Sheets and Plates?

Yes, we provide EN 10204 Type 3.1 and 3.2 mill test certificates with every shipment of Inconel 625 sheets and plates. Each certificate confirms chemistry and mechanical properties with full traceability, and TDS is available on request.

Where can I find a reliable Inconel 625 Sheet supplier in India?

Riddhi Siddhi Impex is one of the most reliable Inconel 625 plate suppliers in India. We are a supplier, stockist & exporter with ready stock at our Mumbai warehouse and dispatch within 4 to 5 days with quotes within 24 hours.
