Stainless Steel 409 coils are flat-rolled ferritic stainless steel carrying 10.50 to 11.70% chromium with a titanium addition that binds carbon and nitrogen. Welded seams hold their corrosion resistance without post-weld annealing. These stainless steel coils contain very little nickel, making them more economical than austenitic stainless steel coils, and they stay magnetic in every condition. Stainless Steel 409 coils are typically used in automotive exhaust systems, mufflers, catalytic converter housings, and agricultural machinery components.
As a reliable stainless steel 409 coils supplier, we keep these coils as ready stock, sourced from reputed primary mills and slit in-house to any width up to 2000 mm. Material ships in the annealed soft condition per ASTM A240, as HR (hot rolled) pickled or CR (cold rolled) supply.
