What are Incoloy 800 Shims?

Incoloy 800 shims are thin, flat spacers slit from nickel-iron-chromium alloy carrying 30 to 35% nickel and 19 to 23% chromium over a 39.5% minimum iron balance. Small additions of aluminium and titanium stabilise the alloy's microstructure during prolonged high-temperature service up to approximately 816°C. Density is at 7.94 g/cm³, and the grade holds its clearance where standard stainless spacers scale away. Incoloy 800 shims are typically used for high-temperature alignment in industrial furnaces and heat exchangers.
