What are Incoloy 800 Coils?

Incoloy 800 coils are flat-rolled nickel-iron-chromium alloy built for high-temperature service. The 30 to 35% nickel and 19 to 23% chromium hold an austenitic structure that resists oxidation, carburisation, and sulphidisation in furnace and process heat. Aluminium and titanium additions stabilise the alloy. Because iron forms the balance, UNS N08800 coils cost less than nickel-base grades while still handling long spells at elevated heat. It is found in industrial furnaces, heat exchangers, and more.

We hold ready Incoloy coil stock, sourced from reputed primary mills and supplied to your required width and finish. Material ships annealed, in 2B, skin pass, and BA, with mill or slit edges and test documentation on request.

Chemical Composition of Incoloy 800 Coils

Nickel and chromium define this grade. Nickel at 30 to 35% keeps the structure austenitic and resists chloride stress corrosion cracking, while chromium at 19 to 23% builds the oxide film that fends off scaling and oxidation. Aluminium and titanium tie up carbon and stabilise the alloy, as the ASTM B409 composition below shows.

Element Composition (% by weight)
Nickel (Ni) 30.0 to 35.0
Chromium (Cr) 19.0 to 23.0
Iron (Fe) 39.5 min (balance)
Carbon (C) 0.10 max
Manganese (Mn) 1.50 max
Silicon (Si) 1.00 max
Copper (Cu) 0.75 max
Aluminium (Al) 0.15 to 0.60
Titanium (Ti) 0.15 to 0.60
Sulphur (S) 0.015 max

Mechanical Properties of Incoloy 800 Coils

Annealed Nickel Alloy 800 coils reach a minimum tensile strength of 520 MPa with 30% elongation, so they form, roll, and deep-draw without cracking. Coils ship in the standard mill condition.

Property Value (Annealed)
Tensile Strength, minimum
520 MPa (75 ksi)
Yield Strength (0.2% offset), minimum
205 MPa (30 ksi)
Elongation in 50 mm, minimum
30%

Industrial Applications of Incoloy 800 Coils

These 4 industries use the Alloy 800 coils we supply. Buyers select the grade for oxidation and carburization resistance, high-temperature strength, and stability through long thermal exposure.

Incoloy 800 Coils used in Petrochemical and Chemical Processing

Petrochemical and Chemical Processing

Petrochemical plants form Incoloy 800 coils into pyrolysis tubes, heat exchangers, and process piping that carry hot hydrocarbon streams. The chromium film resists oxidation while the nickel base holds off carburisation, so cracking-furnace internals keep their section where plain stainless would scale.

Incoloy 800 Coils used in Power Generation

Power Generation

Power stations use Nickel Alloy 800 coils in superheater casings, steam headers, and heat-recovery components that run at sustained heat. The austenitic structure carries creep load, and the alloy shrugs off oxidising flue gas, so parts hold shape through years of thermal cycling.

Incoloy 800 Coils used in Industrial Furnaces and Heat Treatment

Industrial Furnaces and Heat Treatment

Furnace builders press Incoloy 800 coils into radiant tubes, muffles, retorts, and fixtures that face direct heat. The grade resists oxidation and carburization to around 816 °C in continuous service, so heat-treatment hardware survives repeated cycles where lesser alloys warp early.

Incoloy 800 Coils used in Heat Exchanger Fabrication

Heat Exchanger Fabrication

Fabricators roll Alloy 800 coils into tubesheets, shells, and exchanger plates for high-temperature duty. The balanced chemistry resists both oxidising and mildly reducing atmospheres, and the titanium stabilisation keeps welded joints sound in hot service.
