What is stainless steel coil?

Stainless steel coils have a wide range of mechanical capabilities and can be utilized to satisfy a number of requirements. They are primarily used in the construction and industrial sectors. These coils are incredibly strong, lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and need very little upkeep. They are also utilized in the mass production of everything from industrial equipment to domestic items. Stainless steel coils come in a variety of different varieties, each with special use and a set of qualities.

How Stainless Steel Coils are made?

  • Production of stainless steel starts with melting scrap metals and additives in an electric arc furnace (EAF).
  • Carbon maintains increases the hardness and strength of iron.
  • After reducing carbon, a final balance and homogenization of temperature and chemistry occur. This ensures that the metal meets the requirement of its intended grades and that steel’s composition is consistent throughout the batch.
  • With the molten steel created, it is necessary to create the primitive shape which is used to cool and work the steel this process is called Forming and Shaping.
  • The following steps are the most common in manufacturing stainless steel coil, are Hot Rolling, Cold Rolling, Annealing, Descaling & Pickling (It consists of chemically removing the layer of the steel that is exposed by the descaling process), Cutting & Finishing.
