Nickel 201 alloy is a pure wrought alloy having similar properties to that of nickel 200 alloy, but it has lower carbon content to avoid embrittlement by inter-granular carbon at high temperatures. Nickel 201 Strips are resistant to acids and alkalis, and dry gases at room temperature. Nickel 201 Strips also shows resistance to mineral acids depending on the temperature and concentration of the solution. Nickel 201 is mostly used in the chemical and electronics industries. These Nickel 201 Strips are also used in the aerospace, power generation, and marine/offshore, petrochemical and engineering industries. Typically Nickel 201 strips are used in processes where sodium hydroxide and fluorine are used. Nickel 201 strip coils offer exceptional corrosion resistance in reducing and neutral media and oxidizing atmospheres, provided the oxidizing media allows the formation of a passive oxide film. This oxide film accounts for the nickel 201 alloy’s excellent resistance to corrosion in acidic environments. Nickel 201 strips are found to be resistant to stress corrosion cracking in chloride salts and to attack from non-oxidizing halides.
